Cordell Communications, Inc.

In the mid 1980’s, as Spectrum Engineering (and later Spectrum Site Management), Bill Cordell began in Houston, Texas as one of only six nationwide rooftop site management companies. Of all of the rooftop site management companies in the country, Spectrum was the only engineering based firm that prided itself in not simply managing rooftop telecom facilities, but in taking the time to educate real estate ownerships and management companies alike.

From there, Spectrum grew and managed over 8,000 rooftop telecom facilities nation wide. As the fiber and cable industry grew and sought forced access into commercial private properties, Cordell lead the fight to require any telecom company who seeks to enter a private property with any telecommunications services to at least have a written agreement (not an easement) and pay a reasonable fee for such access.

Times changed: The paging industry is all but gone. Nextel all but killed the massive two-way radio industry. Wireless data hauling has surfaced, allowing high bandwidth high speed data to be easily installed and sent from any rooftop or tower. Cellular companies are now evolving to massive data hauling companies.

Spectrum Engineering was the first company to be purchased by Castle Tower, which later was to become Crown Castle International. With Spectrum Engineering changing its name to Spectrum Site Management, Cordell was instrumental in Crown Castles’ purchase of the following assets that built Crown Castle into what it is today: all of the CCI towers in west Texas, all of the towers in Puerto Rico and all of the transmitting infrastructure and towers in the BBC.

Near the turn of 2000, Cordell had left Crown Castle and began Cordell Communications, Inc. A large number of Cordell’s landlords asked if he would help manage their rooftop sites as once before. Within a short period of time, Cordell Communications was managing over 30 large commercial properties nationwide.

Cordell enlisted help from a long time friend – Frank Aguilar, who has over 15 years of site management experience to help him with this new site management company. Frank and Cordell created a separate telecom and site management company to oversee the quickly growing site management business – AC Site Management. Frank is the majority share holder and president of AC Site Management, LLC which currently manages over 50 commercial rooftop’s nationwide.

Cordell Communications has evolved into a company that focuses on educating landlords and management companies, as it relates to the new telecom world.

Cordell Communications provides the following suite of services:

  • RF/EME radiation site evaluations,

  • wireless and fiber/cable telecom evaluations,

  • educational services and site procedures;

  • proposes solutions to benefit the landlord;
